Erika Vikman: the Finnish diva who will set Eurovision 2025 alight
Finland has never been afraid to take risks at Eurovision. And that's what we like! Käärija with its spiky green bolero and techno-punk anthem, the absurdity of 'No Rules! » by Windows95man in flesh-coloured briefs last year. The heavy metal band Lordi longer ago. In 2025, it will continue its momentum to offer Eurovision an artist who will certainly leave her mark on the history of the contest. Erika Vikman with its bold style, infectious energy and striking performances, will be coming to Basel with its " Ich Komme »!

From Queen of Tango to Queen of Pop
Born in Tampere on 20 February 1993, Erika Vikman grew up with music in her life. Her mother was already a renowned tango singer, and Erika followed her example by winning the Tangomarkkinat in 2016 and the title of Tango Queen in Finland. Erika then made her mark in 2020 when she took part in Finland's national Eurovision selection, UMK, with 'Cicciolina ». Inspired by the life of Hungarian-Italian icon Ilona Staller, the song fused feminism, kitsch and shameless sexism. Despite coming second, the song was a huge hit.
"Ich Komme": A Banger with an incredible performance!
Her track "Ich Komme»" ("I'm coming »" in German) is bold, cheeky and bursting with energy. The song is about fun, power and authenticity and flirts with innuendo, but beneath the provocative surface lies a message of freedom and empowerment. Erika herself has described the song as a way of breaking taboos and breaking free - a message that resonates with her fans.
At the Finnish national selection earlier this year, Erika closed the UMK with an incredible performance, standing on a giant flaming microphone, surrounded by a sea of red lights and a jubilant audience! After a close vote by the jury, the public gave Erika 362 points (430 including the jury's) and her ticket to Basel!
Her stage presence and daring have made her one of the most talked-about performers in this season's national final. The buzz surrounding her performance in Basel is very, very, very high.

Erika Vikman: from mental health to Eurovision, an inspirational journey
Erika is also known for speaking openly about her anxiety and panic disorder issues, particularly around the release of her debut album. She has spoken about the importance of mental health in interviews, including how her French bulldog Peppi has helped her cope with loneliness and pressure. Erika is also no stranger to the small world of Eurovision. Not only because of her unsuccessful participation in the UMK in 2020, but also because she is friends with a certain Käärija, with whom she collaborated on "Ruoska ».
