Theo Evan " Shh »: Cyprus bets on mystery at Eurovision 2025
It is therefore Theo Evan who succeeds Silia Kapsisto represent Cyprus, with " Shh" . The Cypriot delegation chose to announce its artist in September, very early in the season, but the title was not unveiled until March. Cyprus is betting on an electro-pop offering for Eurovision 2025, with a mix of " spoken word » and a rather energetic production, with real stage potential that we hope will be exploited in Basel! We tell you all about Theo Evan and his mysterious " Shh »!
Theo Evan: an artist in the throes of revelation
Theo Evan, whose real name is Evángelos Theodórou, is an intriguing figure in this edition by virtue of his title. Originally from Cyprus, he flew to the United States to study at Berklee College of Music, where he graduated and went on to play alongside such prestigious names as John Legend and Justin Timberlake.
His world? Pop, R&B, techno, influences from the likes of Stromae and Michael Jackson, all sprinkled with Greek influences. A truly original mix!

Shh: a bold title designed by a team of pros!
" Shh » was unveiled at the beginning of March. " Shh » is a modern electro-pop style, electronic music with minimalist, hard-hitting sounds. The production is pretty polished, and the atmosphere is intimate and mysterious, just like the track itself. Theo Evan's voice adds an emotional intensity to the instrumentation that captures the listener from the very first seconds. Behind " Shh" is the work of a team of talented Eurovision-experienced songwriters hoping to make their mark at this year's Eurovision Song Contest. The song benefits from the talents of Dimítris Kontópoulos, whose hits include Last Dance from Stefania for Greece in 2021 and Scream from Sergei Lazarev for Russia in 2019. Alongside him are Elsie Baya key figure in Norway's Melodi Grand Prix, and Vlasse Midtsian Nymann, one of the composers behind The Code from Nemothe winning song at Eurovision 2024.
And there's more to come. The performance will be directed by Sergio Jaen, who is also in charge of this year's performances by Erika Vikman (Finland) and JJ (Austria), which augurs well for a visually impressive presentation, since he was also responsible for staging the performance of Bambie Thug last year (Ireland).
Will these big names be enough to get a good ranking?

The mystery of Shh A mythological enigma?
3 letters that sound like an enigma. Since its release, " Shh » has given rise to many theories among Eurovision fans. Behind its catchy electro-pop rhythm, the song's lyrics seem to weave a tale inspired by mythology. Many listeners see it as a reference to Adonis, the figure of male beauty in ancient Greece, whose fate was marked by the jealousy of the gods and inevitable tragedy. Clues scattered throughout the track - the mention of "golden locks », the link between love and falling, and the evocation of a being torn between two worlds - reinforce this interpretation. But Shh is all about ambiguity and mystery. On the Eurovision stage in Basel, will Theo Evan finally lift the veil on this secret? One thing's for sure: until the revelation comes, we'll have to be patient... and make do with a mere Shh.
