JJ "Wasted Love": the incredible Austrian countertenor who could win Eurovision 2025
Every year in the Eurovision pre-season, a UFO comes out of nowhere. A song that is unlike any other, that has winning potential and that we know will go far. "Wasted Love » is one such song, and it's fair to say that Austria has decided to play the vocal intensity card...

"Wasted Love": between lyricism and modern pop
Composed by JJ himself, with Teodora Špirić (aka TEYA, half of the duo TEYA & Salena who represented Austria in 2023) and Thomas Thurner, "Wasted Love is unlike any other track in this edition.
"Wasted Love » is rooted in a pop aesthetic with lyrical undertones carried by JJ's incredible vocal range. It's about unrequited love.
"This song perfectly reflects my experience of unrequited love. There's a unique kind of heartbreak in having so much love to give but not being able to land it anywhere. It's like being adrift at sea on a fragile paper boat, clinging to the tiniest shred of hope, only to see it dissolve beneath your feet. And yet there's something undeniably beautiful about this naive devotion. Because at the end of the day, just being able to love - no matter how much it's wasted - is a beautiful thing in itself. »
An experienced team behind Austria
Behind JJ is a team of familiar faces from the world of Eurovision. In addition to Teodora Špirić as writer, Sergio Jaen will be in charge of staging the show in Basel - the same man who is in charge this year of Erika Vikman (Finland) and Theo Evan (Cyprus). We can therefore expect an emotional performance. Note that Teodora Špirić will herself be providing backing vocals.
