C’est après une soirée comme la Finlande sait les organiser, que Erika Vikman avec son titre « Ich Komme » a gagné l’UMK 2025 et a été désignée nouvelle représentante de la Finlande à l’Eurovision 2025.
Erika Vikman began her career by standing out on the show Nouvelle Star in Finland in 2013, then she continued her career as a Finnish tango dancer. She won the Tangomarkkinat festival in 2016. But it was in 2020 that she really broke through with her first participation in UMK with the title Cicciolina. It will be a top 5 single in Finland.
Elle confie au cours d’une interview à retrouver ici que son retour à l’UMK en 2025 n’était pas prévu, mais elle s’y lance à fond. En Finlande l’UMK a pris une ampleur phénoménale et elle sent que le défi est encore plus grand cette année.
Her winning title ” Ich Komme » s’inscrit dans une évolution artistique pour Erika, qui voulait proposer quelque chose de différent mais fidèle à son univers. Elle admet avoir été surprise que l’on parvienne à créer une chanson taillée pour l’Eurovision avec une telle évidence. Lorsqu’on lui demande ce qu’elle veut transmettre à travers sa musique, Erika est claire : " You have the right to be yourself and to be loved as you are."
