Red Sebastian: Belgian phenomenon set to conquer Eurovision 2025
Red Sebastian, a young Belgian artist, is already sending Eurovision bookmakers into a frenzy. Not only is he taking part in Eurosong 2025 (the Belgian selection for Eurovision), he's also generating a veritable hype. Although he hasn't yet been chosen to represent Belgium, he's already one of the big favorites for the competition!
An early start in the world of music
Real name Seppe Herreman, Red Sebastian was first spotted in the second season of Belgium’s Got Talent en 2013, à l’âge de 14 ans. Il interprétait alors Ain’t No Other Man de Christina Aguilera, une performance qui a impressionné les juges et le public, bien qu’il n’ait pas atteint le podium.
Perseverance and choice mentoring
Since 2017, Red Sebastian has always pursued his dream of representing Belgium at Eurovision. He sent emails with his demos to broadcaster VRT to propose his candidacy, but it went unheeded... until this year with his participation in Eurosong, where he'll be trying to secure his ticket to Basel next May!
Et on peut dire qu’il a été bien entouré. Lors de ses études de chant au Conservatoire Royal de Gand, il a eu la chance d’voir parmi ses professeurs un ancien de l’Eurovision… un certain Gustaph !
Red Sebastian: a strong identity and a dream in the making
2019 marks a major turning point in his career: he adopts the stage name “Red Sebastian” to stand out and assert a strong artistic identity. The name was not chosen at random: it was inspired by the red crab Sebastian, a character from La Petite Sirène. Un clin d’œil à ce crabe, qui, dans l’eau, vit pleinement sa passion pour la musique, tout comme Red Sebastian s’épanouit sur scène.
The same year he also published several songs, and his first album was released in 2021.
Today, Red Sebastian is one of the candidates for the Belgian selection for Eurovision 2025, with his song « Strobe Lights ». The song promises to captivate audiences with its energy and electro-pop sounds. And he's already one of the bookies' favorites!
He will perform live on the Eurosong stage on February 1, 2025, an event that could be the start of an incredible Eurovision adventure.
